Cloud Engineer (Level 2)

We are looking for a Level 2 Cloud Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, helping people, and continuously improving the way technology services are delivered. 

In this role, you'll be the go-to escalation point for complex technical issues, supporting modern Microsoft cloud and endpoint technologies while working closely with customers, project teams, and fellow engineers. You'll combine hands-on troubleshooting with proactive problem-solving, helping to create reliable, secure, and productive digital workplaces.

What you'll be doing 

Cloud & Endpoint Support 

  • Resolve complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 support teams. 

  • Troubleshoot and support:  

  • Microsoft 365 services including Teams, Outlook and SharePoint 

  • Windows 10 and 11 environments 

  • Intune-managed devices and endpoint management platforms 

  • Device compliance, patching, encryption and security controls 

  • VPN, network connectivity and mobile device issues 

  • Perform root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions. 

Identity & Access Management 

  • Administer user accounts across Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Microsoft 365. 

  • Support authentication technologies including MFA and Single Sign-On (SSO). 

  • Manage access requests, group memberships, shared mailboxes and security permissions. 

Device Lifecycle Management 

  • Configure, deploy and manage modern workplace devices. 

  • Support software deployment, updates and endpoint policies. 

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, rebuilds and remediation of hardware and operating system issues. 

Project & Change Support 

  • Participate in technology projects such as device refreshes, office relocations and platform upgrades. 

  • Support testing, implementation and post-change activities. 

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure smooth service transitions. 

Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement 

  • Mentor and support Level 1 engineers. 

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles. 

  • Contribute ideas that improve service quality, efficiency and customer experience. 

 

What you'll bring 

Essential 

  • Experience working in IT support, cloud operations or modern workplace environments. 

  • Previous experience supporting Microsoft technologies in a Level 2, senior support or equivalent engineering role. 

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

  • Experience with:  

  • Microsoft 365 

  • Windows 10/11 

  • Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management platforms 

  • Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID 

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. 

  • Ability to prioritise workloads, manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a collaborative team. 

Nice to have 

  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender, BitLocker or other security technologies. 

  • ITIL Foundation certification or familiarity with ITIL practices. 

  • Microsoft certifications such as:  

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate 

  • Endpoint Administrator Associate 

  • Azure-related certifications 

  • Experience supporting macOS and mobile device management platforms.

Work Arrangement 

This role is based in Melbourne CBD and requires attendance at the customer site 4–5 days per week. The nature of the role involves hands-on support of end-user technologies and close collaboration with customers and technical teams.
